Men’s mental health is finally starting to get the focus it needs. Surveys show men are increasingly accessing therapy; however barriers still remain.
Growing up in cultures where you are expected to be strong, ‘man up’, and not talk about feelings often means that the skills needed to develop healthy personal self-expression are missing. Problems are often ignored or suppressed until they reach crisis point.
I have extensive experience of working therapeutically with men. Throughout my psychotherapy training I worked with a leading specialist men’s mental health service, and I have continued to work with them as a volunteer.
My approach is practical and respectful. I will not analyse you or tell you what to do. I will work collaboratively with you using elements of solution focussed counselling, psychoeducation, and therapeutic coaching to help you gain the self-understanding you need to master your problems and move forward with confidence.
I can help with :
Relationship difficulties
Work related problems
Anxiety and depression
Loss and grief
Childhood neglect or maternal abandonment
Neurodivergence - ADHD, Autism, Tics and Tourette's.
